“Agile Web Development with Ruby on Rails” is basically a book by Dave Thomas and David Heinemeier Hansson launched in July 2005 that covers the fundamentals of web system for ruby on rails. If you are not yet familiar with this system, Ruby on Rails is a full stack, free source framework that is already optimized for the satisfaction of the programmer and for the productivity of the web page.
The first chapters of the book discuss the development of the bookstore application in a more interactive way. A simulated client would ask for upgrades and the authors will teach you how to design the web app that could satisfy the client. Several best strategies have been gathered from other platforms and you can see how they were joined together in Agile Web Development with Ruby on Rails.
Even though the book is very useful for those who haven’t yet practiced Ruby on Rails development, it takes up certain knowledge of basic web technologies. You must have a good background with HTML and databases such as MySQL. The later part of the book provides comprehensive discussion of agile web development with ruby on rails. Here you can learn how to use mapping layers and how to indicate connections, validations and framework like lists and data trees. Other chapters provide emphasis on the organization and visualization of Ruby on Rails. The asynchronous JavaScript or commonly known as Ajax gets a chapter similar to action mailer and web service support. Agile web development with Ruby on Rails concludes with two chapters discussing online security and several strategies to set up and develop your website application.
The “Agile Web Development with Ruby on Rails,” has a very agile tone. There are very few computer books available that was already on print after editing was completed. In spite of the hastened publication, this book might not cover all new changes since rails could have a really speedy development. Nevertheless, this is a highly recommended book. Even though this is one of the initial books of more than a dozen ruby rails series, it will be quite difficult to copy the style of Dave Thomas, the author of this book with his agile tone and of course, David Hansson, the chief architect behind the success of ruby on rails.
